Footprint Private Wireless Electricity Meter with CIU UIU , STS Prepaid Meters

The CA168-S is an STS compliant, keypad based,splity type electric meter finished in a compact and BS footprint mounting enclosure. Thanks to its rugged RF immunity withstand of 30V/m and up to 13kV surge protection, it operates in harsh environments and thus is widely used for residential, light commercial and light industrial applications. Available with the option of SMPS ( switch mode power supply), the meter sustains voltage dips down to Un-60%. This severe condition tolerable device is uniquely applicable in places prone to lightening surges and bownouts such as Africa and Central America.

CA168 -S operates with a customer interface unit as CIU. The CIU is a keypad display installed within consumers home when the main meter, as MCU, metering and control unit, is kept away from the consumers in a meter box or cabinet . The communication bewteen the MCU and CIU is European standard wireless technology, G3 Power Line Carrier (PLC). This split feature not only makes the meter immume to all forms of tamper, but also provides the utility and service providers added value by inspecting and maintenancing meters with no need to enter consumers' premises.

The G3 PLC communication can also be extended to interact with an AMR/ AMI back end server to realize high end smart metering applications such as real-time meter read outs, remote upgrade, tariff setting, and repayment control.
